Default Damaged LS6 intake - take a look

I purchased an LS6 intake off the trader from a member on here. When I got it and opened it up today, one of the ports was cracked and you can see it pushing on the gasket where it's deformed. It has a small chunk missing around the port. The bottom of the box didn't have any type of padding where the bottom of the intake broke through. Take a look at the pics and tell me if you think it will be ok. Any potential for a vaccum leak? I guess the main problem would be if I ever decide to sell it, I'll have to advertise it as cracked on one of the ports. I already paid toward the high end of what these are going for used.

Here is with the gasket removed and you can clearly see a chunk missing out of the bottom of the port.

Here is what the bottom of the box looked like where it broke through. No padding or anything on the bottom of the box between the intake.

Seller gets it back and can deal with the shipping company for the damage, in my opinion.

I would just put new gaskets in it and use it unless you really want to be out more money/time to send it back.

I would request a small refund from the seller and if refused reflect the damage in feedback ratings.

Not really much wrong with it.

It will seal on the head fine with a new gasket. Make sure there isn't a bump to keep it from sitting flat and even.

New gasket and rock in roll.

or

Like above get in touch with seller and have him pursue the shipping. If it was UPS or Fedex with insurance your going to be fine.

This was my intake and I take full responsibility for the damage. It should seal just fine with the new gaskets and I will be more than happy to provide a small refund to pay for the new gaskets at least.

I will take it up with Fedex on my end and apologize to the buyer for any inconvenience.

I was just going to suggest that the seller springs for new gaskets. I will seal just fine and actually you probably would have bought new gaskets for it anyway. Seller did right by you.

I would just get a new gasket, some high temp epoxy and fill the area where theres missing material, then sand down to size and call it a day. Highly doubt youd have a problem.

The seller is a cool guy to deal with. If everyone on the trader were like him, the world would be a better place!

Thanks bro

Shipping company isn't gonna do crap because it wasn't packaged appropriately. That's what they will say.

Good deal, nice to see there are some stand up sellers on here still.

But yeah the shipping company won't likely help much.
