Default Help pick next mod.

Well my 01 ws6 is coming together.

So far I have
Lid
Longtubes
full exhaust
and since my tires are wore out I ordered some M/T drag radials for my stock wheels.

The goal is my car to be a high 7 second car in the 1/8th mile.

Someone told me with a good tune I may could hit high 7's with drag radials maybe..but now where getting into the good stuff, stall and spray.

I know stall will be the best bang for my buck, but I can get the car tuned for 200 bucks right now, that's a custome tune.

what next what next lol.

Don't waste your time getting it tuned now, get a stall (I'll recommend a 4000) and some gears for the rear end. Then get it tuned with the stall/gears. With that and some suspension work you could see high 7's.

While a Converter might be one of the best mods for off the line acceleration in an A4 IMHO you should really get a set of aftermarket Lower Control Arms from BMR or Spohn. I am getting BMR's from a friend for $150 NIB. The LCA's will help you hook no matter what you have done to the car so I would get them next, plus they're not that expensive.

If you do end up getting a T/C though make sure you get a trans cooler too, gotta keep the temps down so it doesn't break. But my vote is LCA's next.

I was running low 8's on stock stall and street tires with similar mods on my old TA - you should be able to hit very low 8's or high 7's as you sit.

Stall, Gears, Suspension are the 3 things you should focus on next

Thanks guys.

What would be the best size gear

front tires are stock 245/40/16 stock
Rears are gonna be as of tommorow 255/50/16 m/t street radials.

Im really excited to see how the M/T hook at the track.

I have pretty much only 5k in the whole care right now..I wanna get into the 7's as cheap as possible.

It ran 8.7 spinning like crazy bone stock so we'll see how it goes.

Most people would say the best gears for an auto are 3.73's

LCA's would help take care of that spinning like crazy problem

I run 275/40/17's all around, mt's will help you 60ft.

Thanks, I had a guy offer me a 3600 tci super streetfighter stall for 300, I think I'm gonna save my pennies and go yank, circle d or fuddle, I would wrather do it right the first time.

I wanna run it with full bolts and drag radials first anyways to see how it's gonna do and to see how much a stall will drop it.

If I can get to the low 8's with drag radials and bolt ons It will satisfy me enought till Iget my stall.

Sounds like you got your head on straight there. Heard bad things about TCI. Whenever I get around to doing one I'll be looking at Yank, Vig, or Circle D. But my application would be fairly specific so I might have to get one customed.

Yeah I would wrather pay 800 bucks for a good stall then 300 and then not do nowhere near as good. Plus Im gonna spray eventually and I've heard the tci don't like it.

Yeah I've heard TCI's like to rip apart transmissions. I like the fact that Vig allows for 1 free stall change, send back the converter and they'll re-stall it. That would be good for if you wanted to upgrade it later after heavier mods. My car will be a semi-DD including around town so I was thinking a 3200-3400 and if I ever decide to make it more of a race car then change it to a 4k

My car is strickly a weekend warrior, maybe drive it like..twice during the week. I just don't wanna go overboard...I have a good job but I don't wanna dump my life savings to have a race car ya know haha.. I just wanna be quick and have fun..Like I said mid to high 7's with a stall and bolt ons then spray.
