C5 Brakes Installed, now experiencing braking noise
I put on Baer Decelarotors, Hawk Performance Ceramics, and BMR brackets. I am experiencing a noise/vibration under light braking. The noise/vibration will go away if I brake harder, or lighter. Seems to just be coming from the left side of the car.
What is causing this issue?
The caliper abutment bracket is uncomfortablly close to the rotors. I don't know if I am causing the bracket to come into contact with the rotor, but I would assume that if I brake harder, it would cause the noise to increase, but this is not the case.
I can only guess that it may be the pads, but I dont understand why just one side would be doing it. Any advice?

I had to grind out part of my abutment bracket and brake pad shims (metal clips) to get clearance between the rotor and the abutment bracket. I dont have a dremil so it is difficult and in some places impossible getting in there with an angle grinder to remove material. I started to notice the vibration after this.

Took it apart today to see whats going on.
The inner brake pad (the one next to the pistons) has only worn on the out side part of the rotor, and unevenly. I took a picture of this:

The outer pad has worn evenly, though. What's the deal? Bad caliper?

Another uneducated guess...
Did you properly bed-in the brakes?
Hawks bed-in procedures are on the product page.
Mark.

If I were to do it again, I would never EVER go with a welded steel bracket. The dimensional accuracy is way off. Not that BMR doesn't make good product, they just don't understand how to make accurate parts. I had to do quite a bit of grinding to get everything to line up, and even then.... its not good enough. A single piece of metal, like the UMI brackets, will have much greater accuracy due to being machined AFTER heated operations (such as welding, extruding, forming, etc)
