Any "How To" Articles on Adding Keyless Entry To 93 Z28?
Sorry if i missed a thread on this. i've been googling this for a few days and only found other ppl asking it. no actual answers on how to do it.

My z has all power options but doesnt seem to have keyless entry. i looked under the passenger kick panel and no box.

i couldnt even find the pig tail that the keyless entry module plugs into? will i have to add wires to the wiring harness?

if i goto a u-pull-it junkyard, what all should i get?
keyless entry module from kick panel (with the 2 pigtails attached? where do i cut at?)
remote
anything i need out of the doors?

It would probably be far more involved and troublesome than it's worth. I wouldn't bother...

You'd have to add all the wiring that is needed. That's a lot of trouble. You already said you had nothing to plug the keyless receiver into. Likely much easier to buy an aftermarket keyless system. The range would be much better, anyway.

Just get an aftermarket alarm. It'll probably be cheaper and a lot easier to install

the numbers in the glove box? yes i checked, doesnt have the auo or whatever it is for keyless entry.

i might've looked in the wrong spot under the kick panel so i'm not sure if the plugs are there. someone on another board said they added keyless entry from another camaro. so i know it can be done.

also adding keyless entry to my 97gt, it seems like thats gonna be real easy but i also have the donor car so makes it alot easier. than going to a junkyard and pulling pieces off and then realizing i forgot something when i get home.

^ thats aftermarket though right?

i think yall are right. i found a keyless entry with the motors and remotes on ebay for 20 plus 20 shipping (australia).
should i do that or is there a better place to buy them from? i'd like to find a kit that has atleast a 1 year warranty.

aftermarket wont allow me to pop the trunk with a remote though rightt? or did camaros even offer that? i know my mustang has that on the remote. kinda comes in handy for me.

My aftermarket allows for remote trunk, thats why I shaved the key hole in the rear panel.

Mine is a DEI valet 712T. You're gonna need the "brain" also, if it comes with everything then yes buy that. Do you have the install instructions? Whats the model?

Edit: Here is the install manual. http://www.directeddealers.com/manua...712T_01-05.pdf
