Default LT1 "cam only" dyno results/track numbers?

For those who are cam only with stock heads/shortblock and full boltons, can you please post up your track times and/or dyno numbers? Also where you shift at going down the track.

I am currently at 12.53 at 110.33 full boltons MINUS rrs, gears, and ewp with mods in sig and need help choosing a cam for this winter, looking for used cheap parts for a cam kit anything from a hotcam to lloyds emissions friendly 224/230 to a comp 230/236. Anyone have any guesses as to what each cam would get me as far as track times? Im hoping with a 224/230ish cam and electric wp, 1.6s, and reducing my race weight from 3225 to around 3000 with the stock rear and clutch to get into the mid 11s. I run ET streets, with a best 60 of 1.84 at 22psi. The motor has about 110k on it and about 160 passes at the track. Clutch is stock replacement with 10k on it, rest of car has 140k on it. Car is purely a toy, with the only street time it sees is the 30 minute ride to MIR, and emissions are not a problem because it will continue to be registered in WV.

Also, for those who had failures spinning a stock shortblock too high, what was the failure (knock? loss of oil pressure? or strait up BOOM!)

Anyone with a cheap cam or rrs or timing chain or anything also please pm me or post it.

Thanks

I have a 306 cam with worked stock heads. car was bone stock until 123000 mi. at 127000 i hit 6500 RPMs and spun the #8 bearing. I haven't shown any knock on mine. Last dyno was 365hp 355tq with a bad mis/cutout higher up...opti quit soon after!!

You hit 6500rpm the one time and it did that? Where was your peak on the dyno, I thought that cam didnt peak until 6500?

Sone 4:10's and a stronger clutch would really help you launching. I ran a best of 12.01 @ 115 with the hotcam kit and stock heads at that time, plus pretty much all boltons. Add those 3 things and I'm pretty sure you could hit an 11.

I want to do a cam swap on my auto lt1.. If I did all boltons plus a 3000 stall and a hot cam kit. Would I be able to outrun the new 2010-2011 ss camaros? And would my transmission hold the power? Thanks!!

I have zero spinning or wheelhop issues off the line, my slow 60s are just a result of me babying my 10 bolt by slipping the clutch and waiting for there to be pressure on the rear gears before dumping the clutch. What was your 60 on your 12.01 run and your race weight?

cc306 with boltons we made 368/370 with a 6 speed and 330hp with an auto. 6 speed car would go 12.30 at 115, auto car went a 11.8 @112

auto with a 150 shot went a 10.5 @128

HOT cam here. The usual bolt ons but with SLP dual cat shorties into stock y-pipe into a Borla/SLP cat back, had to keep it so I could pass emissions. 4.10, M6, Hotchkis panhard bar, tubular LCA's, with Nitto DR's

Original engine went 12.45@111. New crate engine with everything swapped over, 12.44@111. Best runs at MIR back in '99 and '00, respectively. Pickup fell off and spun the #4 rod bearing, replaced under warranty. Shifting at 6300.

12.01 @115 1.75 60'. 3450 race weight.

I know what you mean about the 10 bolt. I ran a stock style clutch up until I got the 12 bolt.

I dont want this thread to turn into a 306 debate, but it looks like the docile hotcam traps the same as the dyno queen 306...where are yall with the 306 shifting?

Anyone have any times/shift points/numbers on a 503, 305, XE230/236, 847 or crane 227 or any other cam only cars?

GREGG 97Z, those are really nice numbers

You may want to peruse the few stickies (Dyno esp) at the top of the main page - you'll find what you're looking for.

I've read through that and there are some valid examples there but I know not everyone posts their times in there, and nobody posts their shift points or carnage
