If you just bolt on stock 243s I would expect to pick up right about 15rwhp. If you can get them ported they should pick up an extra 15-20 over that!

nice, i was looking for an extra 10 hp. so if i can get lucky and almost hit 15 to 20, thats even better. man my gf yells at me on me modding my car. if that wasnt the case, id buy the ported heads that i really want lol.

Lol, I hear ya. Well if you can sneak it past her sometime give us a call. We have a pretty decent port we have been putting on those heads.

Might have been me. I picked up 27rwhp/10rwtq. That's through a 12 bolt w/4.11s and a M6, but it had the same drivetrain before the swap (same tune and everything else too). The real nice part the dyno doesn't show is the ~4mph increase I saw in the quarter. My results are not typical, lol. I have another set I have been meaning to send off to Advanced Induction for their killer port work but I have to say the stock LS6 heads work great. Still have me grinning even after 3 years. In fact I am putting an almost identical motor into my 96 WS6, but with a LS6 intake (instead of FAST) for boost.

Very long story short, 15rw sounds right for an auto.

In "BOLD" AI's work is top notch and the best route you can go if you decide to get them worked over.

If you are going to put the effort into changing the heads, retune, etc., you might consider milling as well to bump your compression up further. That is free power since you shouldn't have PTV concerns with that cam.

We charge $750 for CNC port and CNC valve job, and an extra $200 if you would like larger valves.

Would that be a better option then your PCR stage 1ls6 heads?

the $750 is making a 243 the equivalent of our stg 1.0 LS6, if you add the valves it takes it to the equivalent of a stg 2.5. It basically saves you the casting cost, so if around 300 bucks is worth it to you I would jump on it.

If the car was already tuned with a cam only and you only bolted on stock 243's would it require a retune?

I would think it would have to be tuned to get full results.

If you are going to port your heads go with Advanced Induction. great people who know what they are doing. in this dyno section a guy sent them out to AI and after those heads boosted him 49rwhp/32rwtq!
