Default Interior lights on dash went out

I'm not exactly sure what happened but one time I was at a drive-in, and my battery when out. When I jumped the car, all the interior lights wouldn't illuminate on the dash board. I know all of them aren't burnt out because the mileage lights up with the exterior lights on the car are off, but once I flip them on the entire dash goes blank. Turn signals and e-brake lights still come on though.

I hate to state the obvious but did you check the fuses? There are two fuses involved with the dash illumination. If your tail lights (running lights not brake lights or signals) don't work then it's probably the TAIL LPS (#5) fuse. If the tail lights are fine then it's probably the IP DIMMER (#16) fuse. Never trust a visual inspection of a fuse - it can be blown but still look fine. Always use a tester or replace with a known good fuse of the same amperage rating.
