What RWHP for a f-body to hit 140 trap speed
Im curious at looking at various setups (n/a, blower, nitrous) Often i see the nitrous cars ET'ing the best for the rwhp they put down (mainly im guessing from HUGE low end torque), and the blower/turbo cars putting down the biggest MPH.
What horsepower would it take to put a f-body or C5 to a 140 mph trap speed @ 3500 race weight??
How much less at a 3000 lb race weight??

Im guessing in the area of 750+ all motor. Harlan did it with 15 pounds of boost pushing 700 to the ground. Notrous im guessing around 700 also. thoes are some pretty crazy numbers

or here
http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/hp_mph.php
3500 lbs and 140 trap is about 650 RWHP.
I went 143 at 3600 lbs with 700 RWHP on the dyno. Matches pretty good.
There is a formula you can use, but i don't remember it off hand.

Well this following the smoke it up calculator.
I put in what my car weighs with driver (i did ls1 swap and took off 330 lbs with 225 going from stock TPI motor and rest from powersteering/ac etc).
[b]So my car is 2700 + 200 me = 2900 lbs
Plus a simple 550 rwhp (my motor on a 150 shot) = mid-high 9's @ 140!!!! no way!
Geez i expect to easily be a 625 rwhp car with just the biggest pills in the TNT kit.
which is 147 trap speeds......geezus christ, i didnt plan on going this quick but ill take it
147 = 8.90-9.30 i would hope.

I have the moroso cal also but here is some real world #s
Heads cam car, 3400lbs with a 175Shot wet.
640RWHP = 141MPH.
N/A 3450lbs motor car ran 139MPH with right at around 700 Fly wheel HP.
So it's easy said 650-700 RWHP will get you there No problem. with a 3400lbs car.
