Default $12000 to $2000 in the corse of a day.

So yesterday I was driving along on the highway back from a fishing trip with my best friend and then an evo and a bike went flying past me while I was doing about 80-85. Me, mr.hotshifter decided to try and catch up with them so when it came time to shift to fourth... I hit second. By the time I realized it, I had already started engaging the clutch. I heard the RPM's shoot and that was the end of it. I pulled over and saw that my check gauges light was on. That's not good. I sat there for four hours waiting for triple A to pick me up.. When they finally got there I immediately left in my parents car to drop my parents off then drop my friend off but by the time I was back..

Triple A screwed me.

Now they say that all cosmetic damages will be covered. Thank god.

However this still leaves me with a bad engine. I did a compression test today and none of the cylinders on the passenger side are working, but three of the four on the driver's side still read 175 psi.

I still don't know if I can do a rebuild. I'm hoping to god that my parents are willing to help me out on this.. Anyway. I posted this to remind people to be careful of how they shift and to beware of tow tucks.

Yeah, me too. Btw this is also right after I spent all my money on new headers about a week ago.. I was going to install new engine mounts this weekend. Now it looks like tomorrow I'm taking the valve cover off and analyzing everything. It's going to be a learning experience.

Well they were using a flat bed, but the guy was... Idk.
and he let the car roll off right into the house...
Car... vs.. House.

House wins.

I knew my car was already in the crapper..

I felt bad for the guy. He probably lost his job... We all know how hard it is to get a job these days. I actually tipped him with what was in my wallet. like 18 bucks. He was shittin bricks.

Something is mechanically wrong.. I'm hoping it's just my push rods. I'll take a look inside it tomorrow.. then update the thread.

Yea, might just be pushrods that bent, Hopefully anyways on your part. Aslo i agree if he tore your car up like that then he doesnt need to operate a flat bed

your push rods on the 5 bad are defiantly either broke or bent. Worst case scenario is the heads are damaged...i dont think its an entire rebuild. But dont get me wrong it could be pretty bad.

Sounds like some of your valves kissed a few pistons. Sucks about the bady damage, atleast they are fixing it.

FYI i know quite a few tow truck buisness owners.
They will not do any towing for AAA or most of the 'club' towing.
These companies wont pay anything, they want it near free.
So when you call for a tow under those circumstances, know your getting the bottom of the barrel.
