Default LS7 Question...

Whats the most boost a stock ls7 can take running on 93? Car has a maggy, long tubes, and exhaust. We installed the long tubes and lost 3lbs so now its down to 4lbs. Just wondering would it be safe to pulley it back to 7-8?? Im not a LS guy but ive heard stock ls7's arent really that good for power adders...Thanks in advance.

Most shops will tell you 6 to 7 pounds, tops. The reason Chevy says they went back to the LS3 engine as a base for the ZR1 instead of the LS7 is the cylinder liners are too thin to support much boost.

Yep, 7 pounds tops with a spot on tune. I wouldn't trust it though cause those liners are awfull. Get the thing resleeved and boost the shitz outta it!

Default Boost...

I may be a lil late to jump in here, but have you check the power level after the LT headers install? You are probably making more power now with less boost than before, plus you need to re-adjust the tune a little to reap all it's benefit, you may have quit too early to know the real results, and else are you still been able to hook up that much power.
