Default Full Boost....when?

When should I be seeing full boost on a turbo set up. I have it set to 6psi and just wondering if you only see 6psi at high rpms. I see boost quickly, and it builds up to 6 and stops, but it just takes a minute. Small leak possibly or is this normal?

Some details on your setup would be useful.

Sorry. One 72mm Turbo. Unsure of A/R, Tial Wastegate/6psi. 6.2liter LS3. Upgraded fuel system able to support proposed 750hp. No cats, or muflers.

You should be seening full boost at around at lease 3000 rpm with that motor and small turbo.

This, your drive pressure will be a lot higher with that turbo than a LS1 would which will help build boost very quickly but it will also fall off faster too. Does it jump to 6 then flatten out around 4-5 psi?

No, it gets to about 4 real quick and then slowly builds up to 6. I can't remember exactly what rpm it gets to 6 at. Maybe 4500 or later.

If you suspect a boost leak they make a smoke machine that pumps through the intake tract and can identify a vacuum or boost leak.

Edit added: My car will jump to 9psi really quick then at around 4300-4400 it hits 11-12.

Thanks, judging by your quick 9 and then up to 11-12 things on my end are normal. Sorry, I'm new to boost. Learning quickly on this sight though. Thanks again.
