I recently got the App Torque on my phone. I have been monitoring my trans temp today.

It seems to stay around 200-210....it is about 94F today

is that an alright temp? i know i want to do the tranny cooler soon. What kind of temps might i see with a cooler?

thanks guys

yea without it i would see 210 on the regular she stays at 188 in the 110 degree weather unless i am riding the gears. but i have not seen 200+ even beating on it with my cooler but i have a new converter as well

App Torque? Apple or Android? Does this let you read your trans temp on your phone? I've seen the GXP guys making reference to their trans temps and knew they could read that on their DIC, but wondered how us Impala owners were supposed to monitor it?

I know there's a Droid version; I don't know if there's an Apple version.

i got a bluetooth OBDII sensor to plug in. it cost me around $20 on ebay.

make sure you load the GM PIDs in the settings.

if you have any other questions ask cus sometimes the app likes to be difficult to set up the first time

few hours install in my garage

http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff210/BlueStreak_95/trannycooler/

Used that as a guide, I also used the air hose splicers he used in that how-to, also double clamped only the cooler side, not the spliced side as the clamps i got wouldnt clamp properly with two on the splicer. The mounting location will have to be different, I put mine in front of the condenser resting on the lower plastic cover.

This is the cooler I bought, but the one you posted would work too, its bigger and will probably cool slightly better

thanks for the quick response. I will really look into the Flex-a-lite coolers. They seem pretty popular in this forum

just depends how much you wanna spend, earls performance makes one that is as big as your a/c condenser.................... the b&ms are my personal fav, went with a derale on mine due to i was leaving for a trip and wanted it before hand

seems like 40-60 bucks will get a decent one. but i wouldnt be opposed to spending a little more really

B&M seems to make a good one too.

Instead of cutting up the factory line I found some barb fittings from derale (PN D13035) that fit into the radiator and transmission just like the factory line. That return line is a PITA to get to and splice on the MCSS so Ijust removed it all together. I never liked mounting coolers directly to the condenser so I used some 4" corner braces to put it behind the bumper.

I'm not sure of the temps, I've got no way of reading it. The fan kicks on at 180, off at 170. I wired it to run even with the key off( to lazy to find a "key on" wire) and it only continues to run during the 100*+ days. So I'd guess between 180-190*

I know this thread dates back a month but i just got the torque app with the OBDLink bluetooth interface and i cant get the tranny fuild temps to work.. It shows on my gauge selection Tranny Fuild Temp Method 1 and 2 but it only reads 32 degrees F. What am I doing wrong shocker?

how do you load them? I can see them in my gauge selection and it says the raw data is 32 degrees F but never moves

I bought a Torq Flo p/n 911516 from Autozone. I got it for $59. I got 3/8 barbed fittings from Home Depot for $5. My temps have never gone above 180* since I installed it.
