Default I have a sneaky idea on how to have a T6 AND a T4 turbo mount on the same crossover!

So i ordered at GT91 from forced inductions, with the optional t4 housing for the street. I would like to put the t6 housing on for the track and i was searching for a way to be able to interchange them easily. I came up with this:

make the crossover with a T6 flange, and use an adapter like this *nonsponser link removed* to reduce it to a T4. then i can run the T4 and easily remove the t4 housing and the adapter, and put on the T6.

seem like a good idea, or no? ive never seen anyone do this.

Im thinking about it myself. Looks like you'll have to find some bolts with a small, short head to make it work in those countersunk holes.

why not make two merges? one T4 and one T6, with v-bands (one for each bank, obv.) as close to the merge as possible.

Do both housings have the same size exhaust outlet? That adapter is going to raise the turbo up an inch or so, and may affect your intercooler piping/downpipe alignment. If the exhaust outlet is the same, then making another merge would be the best option.

Would you mind explaining? I don't like the idea, but how is he killing the flow, the plate is removed when installing the t6 housing. Only used when the t4 housing is in use.

I'm sure this is what smokinHawk was referring too . he V-Band setup would be best as that way all piping would stay in the same position !

Hmmm, sounds like a novel idea, but I bet after doing it once or twice you will be so tired of doing it and you will find that spool time won't change THAT much with either. I don't see it being a difference of more than 4-500rpm.

Honestly on that T4 flange that turbo should be a monster and plenty enough. MM has gone 8.59 at 161 with his GT91mm T4 flanged turbo. I don't think you will need the T6 to meet your goals whatever they may be...

yes that was my original plan, but then i found that adapter... so I dont know...

and as far as the exhaust lining up, id have a different "race only" downpipe dumped before the k on the T6, so that isnt an issue for me

That sounds like a bunch of work, I'd just run one housing. How fast are you trying to go?

nvm, i thought it was the flange that was welded to the merge, and that piece wasnt removable.
