Talking Turbo Notch 5.3 build

Hey guys well i have decided to finally finish a car that was started 3 years ago that I got on trade. It is a 1990 Mustang notch. I will be building this as a x275 drag radial car. For now im going to join the the stock 5.3 turbo club to get the car sorted out and see if I can beat the record.. Now on to the build.

Chassis:
Aje tubular k-member and control arms
Manual rack
Strange struts and coil overs
Cage will be done by mean and be a 25.5 spec
Rear is 8.8 welded by me and braced has strange 35 spline axles and spool 3.55 gear
Strange brakes
Stock type suspensions built by me.

Engine:
Stock 5.3 out of truck 8x,xxx miles

Drivline:
Powerglide and converter by FTI

Turbo kit:
Going with a rear mount in trunk. Not sure on turbo yet. Going to use stock Truck manifolds with 2.5 into 3 inch back to turbo and then necked down to 2.375. Cold piping with most likely be 2.5 or 3 inch. All fab work done by me

Fuel system
Twin bosch 044 pumps
160lb injectors
e85

Tunning:
Either megasquirt with msd or Aem havent decided.

I will post some pics soon. I build race cars for a living but I am also open to any new ideas so dont hold back...lol

Sounds like a nice setup, being that you build race cars for a living and looks like good parts, I can see this taking my record.

Any reason why your mounting the turbo in the back? With 2.5 to 3" your gonna lose a lot of velocity. Why not front mount it?

Main reason for mounting the turbo in trunk is its different, puts weight where I want it, and in reality im not adding to much more tubing from where I was gonna mount it in front bumper. So i decided why not try it.

I have a turbo notchback, the car is alot of fun until you actually have to race someone and you can't hook. I would love to do this swap though with my ls1 short block for weight reasons.

Got the motor and tranny mocked up. Fits great with aje kmember and mount kit. Stock truck manifolds fit pretty good to. pass side had to cut flange off but I am using v bands anyways so that was no biggie. Got the torque boxes braced and welded. Now time to start on cage and turbo kit. will post pics tonight.
