Default Ran a 2012 GT500

Well I have a C5Z with headers, X and intake...not tuned yet (slow **** I know) well I friend of mine showed up to a meet in his brand new GT500. The car is AWESOME. Hate me all you want, but I love those cars and they look awesome.

So we talk a bit about the car and decide on a 40 roll. Oh yeah there was a stock terminator (rare I know) that got in on this just to see where he stood.

So three wide, we go from 40, the GT500 went out about 1/2 a car until around 100, then I started coming back around him, but then he let off at around 120...right in the meat of my fourth and where areadynamics start to work for Z's The Terminator was a back just a bit...he had to left off for traffic so it just wasn't clean at all.

Raced once more, same result...so yeah....its a loss for me, but oh well...I thought the 2012 woulda pulled me everywhere...

Anyways, anyone else run one?

ps no video, the other guy did not want to get into trouble :S

YEa in stock form the gt500 are quick..... intake, pulley, tune and your in trouble even with a cam. Doesnt take much to make 600rwhp in the new gt500s and they cut the weight to only 3850lbs from prior years from over 4k.

Give the weight of the C5Z and the power sounds about right on the street. The GT500 is still 3700-3800lbs. Do you know what gear he started in?

yeah 2nd, he doesn't hook at all in 1st. I was pretty happy with the race...I might just wait this year and get a cam then tune it, but I'm not sure. If he get a heat ex-changer and pully hes gonna walk me.

I race someone new every weekend, most are on film...Ill start posting them up now that I see people are interested on this site. Most sites flame you to death for street racing :S

Nice run! Screw the cam and go for a little wet n2O shot (150). That will work nice and then he will need to intake, pulley, exahust, and tune to try and catch you.

Sounds like with some tuning and a little tinkering you could make up that 1/2 car and then some.....especially if you were begining to pull on him in 4th....drive that bitch. LS6's rock.

WHat?

The 07-09 made 500hp stock.
10 made 540hp still weigh 4000lbs
11-12 make 550 plus weigh less then all years before. Few have weighed about 3750lbs stock.
2013+ are set to make over 600hp

The GT500?

As you said its a 08. Also was he heat soaked? That will make a huge difference.
