What kind of setup do you currently have? Do you have emissions? Are you worried about emissions?

If you answer no to the emissions ?'s...Return those cats. Get an ory. Or save a little bit more for LT's + ory (you'll need a different y anyways). The price of 2 Carsound cats just about equals the price of a ory anyways.

Let us know what your currently running.

I need them for a visual inspection and I was wondering what the power difference would be with them like this or gutted.

Well ****, you could just pop the heat shields off those suckers and have them welded around your y. Works for alot guys on the board worried about a visual.

With your current setup you wont gain anything with gutted cats. Horsepower or sound wise.

If you leave them they'll quite your car down some, and cure some rasp. Maybe kill a small amount of hp, not much 2-5?? Just have the shields welded around your Y. Probably the easiest thing to do.

*edit* - Otherwise gut those fockers!!!

I wouldn't gutt them. They will help rasp, quiet it a bit, and lose you less than 5 hp if the rest is up to snuff.
