Cadillac CTS-V - CTS-V carrier in CTS diff

I have been doing some searching and haven't been able to find for sure if a cts-v carrier will fit in a base cts diff housing. I grenaded the diff in my 04 V (big surprise) and found a base cts diff with 3.73's but would want to put my carrier in it because the base has an open diff. Any help will be much appreciated!

I heard something about the case not being machined to clear the LSD but I don't recall where I saw that info.

I don't know if it will fit since we have taller gears (plus clutch packs) I do know that SRX's and Pontiac Soltices have the same diff cases as well. So if you can find one of those for cheaper, try it out.

I'll have my oem diff for sale soon since I got Gforce's 9" rear end yesterday. Just waiting on the pumpkin/gears.

my carrier is fine my case got split wide open and ground my gears down, i found a base cts diff with 3.73's which is what my V has and I just want to know if I can swap out carriers
