Flywheel spacer for early 80E TQ on 6L80 flexplate?

Flywheel spacer for early 80E TQ on 6L80 flexplate? Picked up a LY6 from a '07 Silverado 2500, have a 2001 4L80E with an "Early" style (non-LS) converter that I'd like to put behind the LY6.
Can the 6L80E flexplate work with an 4L80E + early converter if the GM flywheel spacer 12563532 + bolts 12563533 are used?
AIA if this is covered, I've spent hours searching and can't get a clear answer since most using early trans are using spacer + 4l60/80 flexplates
If it matters the 80E originally was behind a 6.5 TD. The converter is a stock replacement 4.3 V6 converter.
