Default VFN ws6 hood hitting SLP lid

how many have had that problem with a WS6 hood hitting the lid?

with the VFN hood or any other aftermarket hood? preferably the VFN's

do i have to dent the lid with heat? or sand/cut the area that the hood hits?

its causes the hood to titter once installed and makes the front corners stick up and wont lay down along the fenders.

one thing i know is the hood is a PITA to get looking right...it can be done but takes alot of time.

Have you checked all the threads about the SLP airlid being set back far enough to have the front lip of the airlid BEHIND the front lip of the base?
So if you remove the airlid, does the hood go down where it lines up?
Are you using the WS6 style lower base with the raised/taller opening?

yeah i checked the lid all the way around to make sure it sitting all the way down and in the tracks of the air box....and yes it is the WS6 style raised box.....and yes the hood does sit down all the way if i take the lid off.

heres a picture of the lid and the marks the hood has put on it...which im pissed off about cause the lid was flawless!
i dont know why photobucket is copying the picture crooked cause its not like that where its being copied from

I have the same problem with mine. I am thinking about taking a body saw and notching the hood where it hits.

hmmmm......you have a VFN hood? its not worth complaining about it cause im sure they will say notch it or sand it down where it hits. the box cant be lowered.....its either the hood or the lid that has to be modified.
