Default Are catbacks from 93-97 F-bodys able to bolt right up to my 2000 Trans Am?

The reason I ask is because I got a fix it ticket with my LM1, apparently it's too damn loud. Now I need to find a quiet or stock exhaust that will fit on my Trans Am to get it signed off.

The car is a 2000 Trans Am with a 241 heads LS6 Intake, TR224 Cam, tuned, mid headers, cats, yada, yada, yada.

So my question is will the 93-97 base model cat backs work for this?

I believe some of the hanger locations are different.
As already stated you'll want a 96-97 .

Alright, thank you. I'll stick from 96 to 02. Does it matter if it's a the V6 model or do I want to stick to LT1/LS1 cat back?

Honestly, I'd throw whatever stock one you could find and wire it up with coat hangers if I had to to get your ticket fixed. Then put the SLP back on.

^^^^
hahaha. sorry, this is only temporary.

New plan, I'm just gonna stick steel wool where the LM1 bolts up to the cats. That should quiet it down real good.

So I did the steel wool thing today. It sounds quieter than a Chokemaster. All I did was take two socks and stuffed about 6 pieces of steel wool into each one and then I stuffed each sock into the tail pipe.

Gonna go see if they'll sign it off tomorrow. Apparently it's illegal to modify your exhaust to make it louder, but there's no law that says I can't modify it to make it quieter.
