Default Looking at this car....Need some input please.

The engine is great and the trans seems good too....but the car is FAR from a looker. The front bumper is totally screwed up and the hood is rattle canned black. There are scrapes and scratches everywhere and the interior is a MESS. I'm just wondering if using this car as a DD is even a decent idea. Any input would be great

If the drivetrain is good it may be worth it. I didn't see what he wanted but if it's cheap enough, could be worth it

I'd say give him the $5 he's asking for it...

Depends on what he really wants for it and what you need in a DD. my car is debatable ugly, no carpet, no plastic, no ac, no power anything, but, I don't mind driving it all the time cause what am i gonna do, mess up the paint? lol Plus you get the "looks like a slow shitty car mod"

If the price is right, why not?

I'm probably picking the car up tomorrow for 3800. Hopefully it turns out to be a good investment.

I've seen the car before in Merrillville, but it didn't have to hood. Didn't get the chance to hear it really, there was a semi next to me on the right and he was on the left on 30. I'd say go for it, especially if you can get the original hood back.

That motor is gonna be a crap shoot, It sounds like he put it together himself and if the hood is any indication of how he does things i'd be worried. If i was in the market and had the money to spend id walk away from this car

Bird, people build their own engines all the time, doesn't mean they won't last. About the hood, I know that he doesn't own a paint booth or have the experience to do a good paint job. He just wanted a different look. Hell, I could go rattle can my car rainbow, doesn't mean it won't last. Not everyone can afford a paint shop or an engine builder. But some quality stuff comes out of everyday garages. But on the other side, it also doesn't mean it is quality work. It is hard to know either way. But you can't shoot something down if you have no idea who the builder is or what the quality is, until you inspect it yourself.

I was just saying what i would do, i wouldnt take the word of some dude on craigslist. The paint sucks and interior sucks and the motor might be good, might no. Also sounds like he hasnt had the car long and is just flipping it
