Default My VFN hood fit...pretty decent!

Ok heres about as good as i can get it.....i did it all be myself and it was very annoying to do alone but i did it....i could probably close up the fenders a little better by shimming the bolt between the fender and the body but for now thats about it.

the only thing i dont like is the corners by the windshield...i cant see getting it any better and NOT throwing everything else off.

whatcha think?

passenger corner

passenger fender

passenger light bucket

nose

driver light bucket

drivers fender

drivers corner

hood

SURE LOOKS ALOT BETTER THAN MY OLD FLAT *** HOOD!

Thats why you pay a lot and have to wait like 6 weeks to get it.

I called and asked about there sunoco wide for my car and they gave a me an 8 week wait time, would have bought it if it was shorter.

weight? idk...its freakin light as hell though i know that! I can hold it up with one arm...id say 30lbs or less.

nah i dont need any hood pins.....my factory latch holds it tight ...the hood dont move! at all.

VFN recommends to not paint it for a month or so to let the fiberglass cure. i'll get it painted in a couple months.

I had some grill inserts from Emblempros to go in and match the ones i have on the sides.....but i ****** lost them! so thats $30+ down the toilet!

i did get the lighter weight struts....i didnt like them cause they opened the hood almost straight up cause they are about 2" or more longer than the stocks struts. So im just using 1 strut and it works great!....yeah i had to wait 6 weeks for mine also....well worth it now! Im gonna go get an estimate tomorrow to see how much i'll be charged to prep and paint the hood.

??????......anyone know how to remove the plastic piece at the bottom of the windshield where the wipers are at?..... I wanna remove and and paint it black.

well i was quoted $600 to paint my hood. That includes prep, paint and clear both topside and underside of the hood....and scuff and paint both fenders so it matches.

does that sound like a good price?

i told him i would have to wait and come up with the money.

Wow... Fuking spot on, except for the driver's corner. .... Unless it's just the angle.

nah its not so much the angle...its that far off..maybe not as much as it looks but it is

if i try and get that perfect its just gonna throw everything else way off....so i'll live with it.

Sorry, but have to call you on this...we haven't been at 8 weeks in quite a while. 6 weeks during our busy season...definitely...it can happen. We're a small shop and can get swamped with incoming orders...but we try not to go beyond this ~

Stroked - Let me get you some advice on how to get that back corner...should be an easy fix
Have something back for you before leaving out today

Thanks!!

Stroked...the hood can be moved back and over just a bit. Then tighten things up by making an adjustment on the headlights. This should allow the hood to sit correctly.

after allowing the hood to sit out in the sun......the fornt corners have laid down perfect.

the only issue is the front drivers corner by the windshield.....but actually im ok with that

cause every were else is now perfect and messing with that corner will just throw everything off and i dont think i can get it as perfect as it is..

so im leaving it....lol

Also ...the only other issue i have cosmetically about the hood are the nostrils.....the line indention's where they are removable on the OEM hood and not all there on the VHN hoods....they fade to nothing..... Im just **** about stuff like that....either sand them flat or somehow get the paint guy to finish out the indention somehow to make it all look like its all there.

It sounds like a fair price with cost if your getting it blended with your fenders. I didn't though and you can't tell a difference in any of the color. I have the same hood as you!

yeah im gonna have to leave it as it is.......for atleast 6mos.-1yr. I just cant come up with that kind of money right now. The hood money was hard enough.

I know it will look great once painted but i can handle the bare fiberglass look for a while. The ram air stickers are so cheap online im gonna get me some and put them on the hood....

Will leaving the hood untouched for so long screw it up somehow?
