I have been looking for a nice low mileage 2002 SOM Firehawk or WS6 6 speed for a very long time and I just haven't found the right vehicle till this past weekend. I am a frequent reader here on LS1 tech and always visit the vehicle classified section and came across my new car here on LS1 tech. The car ended up being only 2 hours south of me and I finally have it.

Car is a 2002 SOM Firehawk 6 speed and has 36k miles on her. Build # 797. I haven't taken any professional pictures of it yet so i'll just use the pictures I got from the sellers ad. Without further adoo...

Is this something common that a tail is dark? I had one of the bulbs on the most outboard burnt out. I replaced all the bulbs in the whole tail except for the reverse light and it is not near as bright as the passenger side. There is also a little condensation in the drivers side reverse white light, is that common either? It looks like I need a new tail light because you are right that it is dark. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I just got confirmation today that my new custom plate order went through and I got my 1st choice. In Wyoming you can only do 4 letters/numbers or mixed. Since it was only 4 characters I tried for "Hawk" and noone had it yet in Wyoming so I'll have that for my custom plate. I am entering it in my first car show this weekend in Cheyenne, WY on Sunday for the "Rib Fest" weekend.

yeah its a common problem , its bs of a bad seal around the bulb so the light darkens , nothing can be done once its dark , you could get another dark one or another good one . Wanna sell the spoiler , 6le was trying to get that made . Do you know how many had that spolier in 2002 . What a great combo you have with that car

som , firehawk, 6 speed , 02 , rare spolier , low miles

I have to agree with you about the combo, I especially love the camel interior too. I however am keeping my spoiler. I really like it too. That is usually one of the first comments I get is wow, that spoiler is awesome or something along those lines. Thanks for all the information on the tail lights. I looked at some new ones on ebay and they seem pretty pricey. Maybe I can find another dark one for cheap, we will see.

I am not sure how they would be different except for the color of the leather.

If your seats dont have lumbar support they will look different the backs wont have the accordian look to them. My 98 WS6 was like that,

I am planning on getting some chrome c6 z06 deep dish riveted wheels from OE wheels llc probably after winter since it will be sitting the whole time :(

I'll just store my hawk wheels and keep them, I was wondering the same thing wish they had ordered the chrome wheels with it.

Nice score, how is a Firehawk different than a WS6, I know I am new and all. Just want to learn Pontiac.

A WS6 is basically your trans am with the WS6 ram air package on it. The Firehawk is modified by SLP engineering just like the Camaro SS's were. You could order your Firehawks with different options. The late 2002 models came with the LS6 intake and black wing air lid producing 345 HP. The options mine came with were the IROC spoiler, custom rear deck mat, car cover, firehawk floor mats, and the commemorative portfolio. Other options available for 2002 were the 1LE suspension, bilstein suspension, Auburn differential, and the chrome wheels.

Excellent. Do the door panel mod ASAP. Remove the staples so they never crack.

I am not familiar with the door panel mod, I will have to do a search on that. I usually just don't roll the windows down all the way, I heard that keeps them from not cracking.

Here's a write up on the process. I used some thin 22 gauge picture frame wire to tie the two together instead of the nuts and bolts. Worked great. I don't see how the nuts/bolts would act much different than the staples.
