Buddy of mine just bought a 07 mustang gt 5 speed he has a big head now and im not to sure bout it. anybody on here raced one with a stock lt1? my best 1/8th mile so far is 9.2, if i cant beat him what would be the minimum i would have to do to edge him out. The mustang is stock

It would be really close assuming everything goes perfect for both. i would say the GT will edge ya out though

A 9.2 is like a 14.5 quarter, I'd atleast do headers and exhaust first.

I creamed a Cobra with my 2002 all stock Z28. Saw him at the drags about a month later running 16's. OK, he couldn't drive, but still......

On that note our local Corvette club has events at the strip. How the hell can any new Vette run a 16? I mean if you just put it in drive and smashed the pedal....

If you race him now and he just bought it, he may not be able to drive it very well yet. Stock for stock both these cars are a driver's race it seems. I have a feeling he may edge you out since you have an A4 with 2.73's though.

Headers exhaust and a tune and smoke him. Gears and stall/tire if you wanna make him look stupid.

The modular motor will eat a stock lt1, I hate to say that since I hate stangs win a passion but its true. They have good mid top end and you may get the hole but it should catch and pull on you. And once he gets more street time it will make him have the edge that much more. A4 lt1 need some help

They run about the same as LT1 cars run stock for stock. Sad really since it is a 13 year difference between the motor design. The thing hurting you right now is that you have 2.73s. More than likely he will win unless he can't drive/shift worth a damn.

i think it will be a drivers race, run from a dig and hope u can get out a little bit, he will pull you a little up top.

the secret to racing is.... run from a dig, make sure u get out on him and when u see him coming around you hit ur brakes and start talking **** how he just got raped by a slow stock lt1

I think you have a better chance of winning the sooner you race him. It took me a couple months before I could actually 'drive' my car. An 273 A4 is gonna grab great off the line. Im guessing he will either bog it or spin. Shut it down around 70 or I bet he will start pulling you.

i raced my friends stang last weekend. he has exhaust done to his car like i do mine, i have the a4 and he has the 5 speed. i edged him out, but it was very close. however we did switch cars and i was able to edge him out with his stang. its just a drivers battle pretty much.

you should beable to get him out of a dig. i have bad tires and my Z got off the line both times faster than the stang
