Default Can A Crank Pulley Be Put On Too Far?

Can an LS1 crank pulley/dampner be installed too deep, or on too far? Mine seems to be on too far & causing belt alignment issues. Thanks for any advice.

Did you change balancers? Vette, F body, and truck are three different depths.

Only two scenarios come to mind:

1) The wrong offset pulley which would result in a huge misalignment (~ 3/4").

2) Your setup had the friction washer between the balancer and gear and it was left off (~ 0.080").

Yes I did, but also installed all the corresponding Vette accessories.

Would the absence of that washer then allow the dampner to be pushed on too deep? Or only the extra thickness of the washer itself, 80 thousanths?

It would only be the thickness of the washer. You haven't said how much misalignment you have...
