Default brand New 408 smokes white on acceleration

well I have a question for you guys.
I recently had my engine rebuilt due to a problem with piston 5 and 7 and I decided to use a local builder who is well known and came with very good references, anyhow, the car went through the regular break in period and after a few test drives, I noticed that it is heavily smoking when I get on it about 3/4 throttle. So I am taking the car to a shop to do a leakdown and compression test tomorrow to see what they show. I am also contacting the engine builder and ask for his suggestions.
I know that white smoke on acceleration points to the rings, what would cause a new engine to do this, I mean it doesn't even have 850 miles yet.

another thing I noticed is that the car shakes pretty bad once it gets on 4th and the TC locks driving down the HWY, I think that is a separate issue but I want to get this crap sorted out.

They're local and their engines tend to not last and be underpowered.

Honestly, 850 miles isn't very broke in. But if you're having issues contact the builder. If he is good he'll stand behind the work, unlike the shop I mentioned.

yea... white isnt the rings (oil blow by)

pull your plugs and see if you have some that look way too clean. the coolant will do that.

might just be a bad headgasket (or installed improperly/pinched), you can at least figure out which side its on by looking at the plugs.

typically it would be getting hot, puking coolant if you had a bad gasket, cracked water jacket/passage etc...

Sounds like a ring issue to me...... Might have had a couple not seat properly. 500 miles, that thing should be good to go.

it was a hole in piston 5, I sent the injectors to get checked and number 5 and 7 were on the low side even after the cleaning procedure, that along with the old tired 98 stock pump caused a lean condition on that cylinder.
I have a new set of injectors flow matched, a racetronix pump and wiring kit, fuel pressure gauge, and other odds and ends that the car needed to prevent this from happening again. We think it was a fuel issue.
