EGR and 24x I am installing the efi connections 24x ignition soon, but I need to pass smog. I know the ls1 pcm will not work the lt1 egr system. So if I were to leave the egr system all hooked up; but not wired to the pcm, will it affect the way the car runs?

Do they do a tailpipe test or plug in? If its tailpipe, does the car go on a dyno? If not, they don't test for NOx so there is no need for an egr. If its plug in, I don't know how you are going to fool the emissions computer into thinking its testing a 97 car but you can disable the egr so you don't throw a code.

It is CA so I might be screwed when it comes smog time. They do have the car on a dyno with a sniffer in the tail pipe and the pcm pluged in. I know the smog guy and he will pass me as long as the readyness codes and sniffer passes; and he sees all of the egr stuff. I think all he is reading when the pcm is plugged in is the readyness codes; I think can have it tuned to show it as being ready and O.K. But now if I leave it all on the car and not functioning with the PCM will it screw with the way the car runs?
