General Maintenance & Repairs - Are These Normal Sounds

Looking at buying this 02 ws6 A4 and can't tell if these are normal sounds from the injectors or if this engine could be bad like a rod or piston slap.

Did not test drive the car these videos were sent to me so I do not know if this sound goes away when its warmed up or when it is idled higher

Friend thought that it was regular gasoline mixed in with the phones speaker which was used to record video.

What sound exactly are you talking about? I didn't hear anything strange... :confused:

It just seems really loud. My last 02 didnt sound this loud. It almost sounds like an older cummins diesel! Or is it just me. The car is 1000 miles from my house and I have not seen it in person yet

yeah sounds good to me, i find that some digi cams add to valve train noise/or any noise. when I did my cam swap on my ss and video'ed it for some friends, it sounded like i had more noise than listening to it in person. my vote goes towards sounds normal

it would help if they gave it a rev.
i agree with everyone else. it sounds normal and digital cameras are all different.

The noise you hear is not the camera my 02 Z makes the same noise!! Have you figured out what it is yet it has been worrin my for a while seems fine oil pressure is great. Just that tickin just dont sound right to me??

These motors tick, sounding like what has been described as a sewing machine sound. Do a search, I remember seeing quite a few posts about the sounds these motors make over the years.

sounds just like my ls1 did... nothing to worry about my new ls6 has the same sound but its very faint its just luck of the draw on if you get a quiet one or not
