Default Hawk vs. New Camaro SS

Last night i was driving home My 02 FireHawk and a New camaro ss with the temp tag still in it ran up on me. Now i know he was stock and i have all bolt ons, LT's and a 224 cam, 395rwhp. I was in 4th gear and bothed jumped on it and i be damned if we werent side by side. I started to barely inch away at like 100. Then he wanted it again and this time i flipped on my 1st stage of nitrous which puts me at 505 rwhp. I knew he would not stand a chance so when he pulled up next to me i waived bye bye and when we hammered on it i put about 12 car lenghts on him like it was nothing. LOL. But man thank god i have that bottle. These new cars are quick. You basically need a power adder or a nice heads and cam setup to pull away from these new camaros or 5.0 mustangs.

no offense but maybe you should have been in 3rd instead of 4th? even an ls3 camaro stock wont hold up to a bolt on fbody due to the weight. with a cam and the right gearing you should have walked him if he was stock or even midly modded.

I have to agree. 3rd gear you would have pulled him with full bolt ons and the cam you have. A new SS/5.0 stock shouldn't run with you. Wrong gear happens. But I bet he was like what the hell the second race.

I have similar mod's and hp numbers(no nitrous) and I would be amazed if a stock fifth gen ran even with me.I believe they dyno at about 345 hp to the wheels usually so I wouldn't worry too much if I were you!Either way good kill!

Believe me i would have loved to start in 3rd but i was rolling down the highway at like 80 when he pulled up next to me and i could only go down to 4th cause we both just kinda jumped on it. We didnt slow up to get it. I woulda like to see how it went if i did start in 3rd but when i went to the bottle we were slower and i did start in 3rd, guess thats why i put 12 on him before i blinked. LOL
