supercharged or all motor?

supercharged or all motor?
well, my 98 z28 is about to reach 100000 miles, and i thought id celebrate by dumping 15-18000 in her........ so i figured 2000 of that for clutch and transmission, and 2500 for a new rear, and probly like 1500 suspension.....so that leaves me with 10-12000 for the most important part.....under the hood. I really did wanna do a badass 418 all motor.......and probly close to 600 rwhp with a big cam and some small bore ls7 heads (yes yes and all the other goodies intake headers and more). But after hearing some 2010s with some superchargers, im really liking the whine. My price for the 418 after all parts came out to exactly 10000. sooooooo, if i wanted to make 600-700 rwhp with a supercharger, how much would it cost me? also, can you throw a supercharger on a 418, or is it best to use them on stock displacement motors?

so after looking into it a little more, i guess id be around 10000 either way........i could pick up a 6.0 block for a little larger displacement for around 400-600 bucks.......then get some nice heads for 2000, and then get a charger kit for 7000. still not sure what i wanna do looking for some advice

I hate to say this because it takes you in an entirely different direction, but have you ever considered selling your car and using that cash plus the $15,000 to buy yourself a newer bad-a$$ car?
Otherwise, it really depends on what you want to get out of the car and what you like. Do you enjoy driving all motor cars more than supercharged cars? Do you plan on racing?

supercharged all the way.....and you'll be able to drive it. You wont need as big of a cam, so you'll get fuel milage. Do F1-F2 be all the charger you'll ever need. I did a 600b when i bought my car new and kickin myself now. Doesnt even make 5 psi on my built motor. Stock 600b Ps1 would be great anthing else D1+.....I'm selling mine (600B) and buying F2 and can have 600-1100hp just change pullies. Depending on fuel system and bottom end build. I spent 13k on just motor but it has the best of the best. Its running about 450 all motor and doin 20 mpg doing 85 mph. But still working on my tune....lookin for 23 mpg. LT1, TPIS heads, billet bottom and 383 strocker, 9.3:1 cr.

you WILL spend a few thousand dollars on various odds and ends that you cannot foresee right now so leave yourself some room to wiggle during the planning stage.

The D-1SC kit at the link here will easily get you 600 to 700 rwhp with a stock displacement 347. You could keep the stock crank, add good rods, pistons, cam and an LS6 intake manifold. I'd go with the optional Aster bracket that is available in the above link, and you'd have a combination in need of some serious traction. Bob
