Default Steering wheel advice???

I have a 95 formula and a 97 trans am. I would like to swap steering wheels, one has had controls and the other doesnt. Is this possible? also, will the hand controls work?

The wheel will fit, but the controls won't work.

Thats fine, the wheel is in better condition anyways. Is this a hard procedure, little scared about the airbag!

No, it's easy so long as you have a steering wheel puller. Air bag is plug and play

Make sure you pull power before trying to remove air bag.

some one correct me if i'm wrong but if the clockspring is swapped also then the controls will light and function assuming the stock head unit is being used.

the clockspring is for the air bag, the SIR coil is what you're referring to I think.

1995 and up steering wheels are the same. If the vehicle has the the UK3 radio buttons option, the wheel has the button pod. If not, they are blank.

The wheels will swap but the car without the option will not have anything for the buttons to plug into.

I had just put the stock radio back in the car today. I just thought it was weird that a 97 WS-6 didnt have the controls on the wheel. The 95 formula has been sitting for about 6 months with no motor or power, so i should be good with taking that wheel off? So you are saying that if the car should be wired for the controls??

The radio buttons on the steering wheel might have been included in the WS6 package, but it could be had with any model including the base V6 car.
