Default DBW Cruise on a Mustang? Factory cruise buttons? Anyone done it?

Doing Drive by Wire on my swap and wondered if anyone has used the factory mustang cruise control switches to activate? Mine is a 91 fox but i would imagine them all the same.

Are they steering wheel mounted switches? I looked into getting my '84 LTD wagon controls working, and kind of figured it out, but couldn't get all the features to work. The Ford uses a momentary on/off, so that wouldn't work. Then the set, coast, resume and accel switches use variable resistance to operate instead of on/off switches. I'm going to try it later on, but it will be a while before I get back to it. If you figure something out, keep us posted.

I'm definitely interested in putting cruise in my car since it didn't come with it. I was also thinking about using the ford steering wheel mounted buttons but I guess that's out. Keep us posted with your progress and good luck!

Dakota Digital has a dash mounted box with the correct controls.
Their turn stalk is the ford style though.

Will do, should know something in the coming week or so. found a wiring diagram that shows that they do use resistance. there is a module however between the buttons and cruise box. im hoping that there will be something usable coming out of the module.

The Ford stand alone cruise only has two wires from the wheel to the brain box. Each button has a different resistor, so the box knows what you want it to do by the voltage it receives.

I've added factory cruise to three ford vehicles. I don't know of any module between the wheel and box. Earlier fords use vacuum, later are all electric.
