will a 10 bolt 7.5 bolt in to an 89' camaro?
Have a guy at work with an 89 camaro. Hes wanting my 10 bolt with 3.23 gears to bolt into his automatic. I told him I'd look into it before saying yes so....
Will a 10 bolt 7.5 3 series with 3.23 gears bolt right into his 1989 camaro? Thank you.

LT1 rears are 2" wider per side, LS1 rears are 1.6" wider per side. If he's got stock 3rd gen wheels they will stick out beyond the fenders. If he's using 4th gen or C5/6 wheels, just drop the spacer in the rear
The axle will bolt up and operate just like his original

Question is...why would he want a 10 bolt?
Joking aside, the only reason I can think of is because it is cheaper then upgrading to a better designed rear end. Third gens have/had some good options though. My buddy used to have an 89 IROCZ and it came with a really stout rear from the factory

Early 3rd gen 10 bolts were 7.5" 26 spline axles
Later 3rd gens got the same 7.625" 28 spline 10 bolts as 4th gens
Top tier 3rd gens up to 1990 could get the 9 bolt which used a 7.75" ring gear
None are very strong. Of those options, the 9 bolt is the strongest but pales in comparison to any other aftermarket axle. Besides, parts for them are nearly impossible to find. Try sourcing a set of posi cones

Ah didn't know that lol
Yeah my friends had the 9 bolt in it and it was a 355ci motor making roughly 385hp or there abouts. Not bad for something he got for $3200.
