Default Just picked her up a couple of weeks ago

Found a 2006 GTO with 13,190 miles on it! This baby looks like it's been in the garage the whole time. It's all original except for brand new Goodyears on it.
Now I'm debating on what to do? I know that the shifter is #1 on the list, but trying to figure out what I want to do.

Here is my wish list, not in any order.

Shifter
Heads
Cam
Intake
Long Tubes
Exhaust
New wheels tires
Suspension (Pedders)
one piece drive shaft

How much HP can the stock bottom hold?

Paid 18,500 for it and think I got an OK deal. This car was sooo clean I couldn't pass it up.
I wasn't even looking to buy a car, but stumbled across this one and just bought it. I can't wait to start modding it.

Shifter/suspension, first.

Then all that other ****.

Great looking ride BTW. I love the color/year/wheel combo, one of my favorites.

That's a pretty good deal actually. Esp if it's really clean.

I got a 2005 Torch Red M6 with 14,000 miles. Full SAP except the wing (grill inserts, front bumper, side ground effects, and rear bumper). Red leather interior

It has aftermarket 18" chrome wheels that actually look pretty cool. Had stainless steel LT headers, hi flow cats, CAI, 160 degree thermostat. Red interior, the gentleman had also installed the holden oil pressure and battery voltage meters and a ripshift short shifter. Car also has really nice 25%ish tints. Upgraded wires and spark plugs, and brand new yellow top battery as well as new all season tires.

Car was absolutely FLAWLESS. It literally had 1 pinky nail spot on the front where it had been professionally touched up from a rock chip and that was it. I literally could eat off the engine and underside of the car.

I got it for exactly $20,000 plus a plane ticket and a tank of gas to get it home. Guy I got it from was awesome and had taken super good car of the car. Had a record of EVERY gas fill up and every thing done to the car.

I thought I got a fair deal and everyone who has seen the car can't believe how awesome it is for the price I paid.

Should also see the looks on all the faces of these ppl with brand new $35k+ mustangs and vettes as i keep up with them. I can even roll with my brothers GT500 while we have some fun on the streets.

These GTOs are an awesome value! Congrats on your new ride. I'm loving mine!

Satchmo> that soulds like a great car as well.

GTOSE> I think you are right with those mods first. I really like a good handling car. I don't need to drag race this one.

I've been looking for wheels and am torn between two different styles. I like a nice 5 spoke with the spoke cut in the middle. Plus I like the wheel that has a polished lip on it too.

Any suggestions?

Nice looking car!

I say shifter first for sure, then bolt ons, then H/C.

What are you looking to do with the suspension? Replace everything? How are you wanting to set it up?

Nice pick up. Yea I would say a shifter and suspension would be a good place to start. If you can afford to do it I would do the H/C/I and exhaust all at once just to get it done and over with in a weekend. The stock bottom end is good up to around 500rwhp. Some people have pushed it further though.

If the stock suspension is on there do that before any power mods. It is the weakest part of the car.

Yeah, from what I see Pedder's are in the future. I have a whole wish list of stuff that I want to do. Just wish that I had the money to do it all at once. Oh well, don't we all?

Im parting out a 2006 GTO with a friend of mine (98 cobra). Stock parts plus cash works.

MMR wheels is what I bought. They are black with a polished edge, less to clean. A GMM shifter is one of the best shifters for this car and Lovells for suspension parts.

REALLY!!! some bonehead already rubbed my left front bumper and tweaked the headlight and bumper out of alignment. Grrrr!!! Have to pull the front bumper off and realign everything. GD Arizona or snowbird drivers- YOU SUCK!!!
it's not bad, just frustrating to say the least!

Venting is now over, continue with this thread. ha ha
