I was driving my 2000 camaro z28 a4 and i rolled up to a red light and when it turned green my car would not engage and i pinged the rev limiter my buddy trent and u belive its the torque converter i seriously need help suggestions are welcomed

The transmission is not engaging in to any of the drive gears, it will engage into reverse but when you shift in to drive or any other gear it acts like its in neutral and it makes a weird squealing noise. Suggestions and help please!!

The fact it ingages in reverse take the converter off the table. I would say there is a hard mechanical internal failure.

Like what kind of hard mechanical internals could fail? Sorry I'm new to automatics

It could be a number of parts that have failed to be honest. But, if Ihad to guess Iwould suggest that the forward clutches are toast. It is possible that there is a hard part failure, nobody can say for sure until it is disassembled for inspection.

OK we are going to pull the oil pan off and see what comes out, could it possibly be the stator clutch broke?

No such thing as a stator clutch. It is probably one of the components related to the input carrier if I had to guess. Forward clutch, input sprag, input carrier, output shaft, input drum.....kind of hard to say because there are many possibilities. Bottom line is the trans will need to come out and be opened up for inspection.
