I'm from the south suburbs of Chicago and my camaro is my dd so i am looking for some good winter tires. I have summer rims and tires so i need a really good winter tire.

Blitzskaks or however you spell it are supposed to be good. My friend runs them on his wrx in the winter.

yea i heard of blizzaks i was curious on what size to run on a 17in rim.

you could probably just run the stock 275's or a tad smaller. Typically, a narrower tire gets better traction in the snow from what I understand. I drive my T/A in the snow and I just put my stock wheels back on like you do. Those are like 255's I think.

You pretty much can't go wrong with any of the dedicated winter tires. Blizzak's, Nokian Hakkapeliita's, Dunlop Graspics or Winter Sports, Hankook Winter i-Pike (which was co-developed with Nokians - Hakka 5), Pirelli Winter Carving or Snow sports or Scotto Zeros, General Alitmax Arctics are a lesser exspensive, but great design. Its the older design Gislaved Nordfrost 3 just rebadged as a General through parent company of both - Continental. Nokian also brought back there Hakkapeliitta 4 with a new name, Nordman 4. Same tire, just cheaper price. Id say stay away from the Firestone WinterForce. Yeah its cheap, but its cheap for a reason. I think you can get a better winter tire for a similar price. As far as sizing, skinnier is better. It would be better to go to like a 245/45R17. It will fit a 9" wheel, which I think stock wheels are? Or are they 9.5", cause they are not recommended in that case. A 255/45R17 would work as well. More tires available in the 245 size though.

I had Blizzaks on my 89 Formula and it would go anywhere I pointed it in Canada.

A buddy tried to chase me through a twisty section in a Range Rover, it blew his mind that I pulled away from him. The snow was about 4-5" deep. It was a 5 speed car which works better than an auto does in snow.

Put about 50lbs of weight in the rear.

I have never driven the 4th gen in the winter though.

One Word : Blizzaks. I also like the Dunlop winter sports for these cars if you do not have real heavy snow.
