Im gonna be doing a 5.3 swap into a 1st gen s10. I'm new to the lsx stuff and have only really used carb stuff before in swap cars. My questions are how hard is it to wire all the sensors up and run the computer? I have basic knowledge of wiring but haven't had to wire a whole car before, also I want to use aftermarket gauges since the stock gauges are ugly. Do they have to be electrical or mech? My question about the trans is if I use a manual valve body trans how do I shut off the trans control in the PCM? Can I drive it or get it running without shipping it off and getting it turned off? What motor mounts are best for this? Also who makes longtubes for this? Would it be easier to run a 4l60 or 80 instead?
Also how did you guys do the cooling system? What rad and funs work? Also what fuel setup? A cell? Or stock tank?

I'm swapping a LS1 into my 1991 S10..plans are to make it Fuel Injected, 4L60E. With your MVB setup you tune it as a 6spd, what type of trans are you using?

I'm using Carshopinc Headers & Mounts.

I'm looking into Gauges for mine..I can wire and tune anything with my HP Tuners so that leaves a decent amount of options..

I finished mine last year I had Jared at Current Performance Wiring build a harness and it is well worth it just plug it in and start it up..why mess with all those wires if you don't have to..he has everything you need for the swap..as for the long tubes

Thanks for the info. I will be diving into this in the next year along with swapping my 92 z28 to a 6.0 LS and t56..

I'm doing roughly the same swap check out s10forums.com thats how I got here, lt1swap.com if you want to do your own wiring harness. The oil pan is a pita no matter what you do. Good luck man!
