If you have the proper LT1 WS6 ram air hood, i'd say try to find an oem LT1 WS6 airbox, if not, the LS1 lid is probably the best setup for a non ram air hood car.

It definately flows more air at speed. It also improves throttle response standing still, so it would seem to simply flow better than any traditional cai. It would make sense, by eliminating two 90 deg bends and several feet of intake tract. It was a noticable improvement in throttle response from my old slp cai. Pulls harder from a stop all the way through to redline.

you can either try and find one used in the for sale section or you cand buy the lid, filter and coupler brand new from some of the sponsors here. i forgot how much it is. its a little pricey. your gonna need to find a used base for the Lid, i dont think anyone sells that new. there is a huge thread on this site about the lid on a lt1 car. search and read up. its very useful.

its not a direct bolt on with a stock hood on a camaro or firebird. it is a direct fit with the Ws6 hood.

See the lid mod link below. Not sure what car you have, I did this on a stock 97 hood, which is probably the least room of any.
