Casting Number on right side?

Casting Number on right side? I have an LT1 engine, I removed from my aunts single owner wrecked 96 vette. It is the original engine for the car. It has a casting number of 101253227 located on the right side (passengers) on the flange behind the head. It has a 5.7 stamping on the left side. See my confusion any ideas?

5.3 where do you get that from? why would they put 5.3 on a 350ci motor? that would be very confusing for someone trying to make sure the engine is original or where it came from. Every lt1 or almost every sbc i have ever seen has displacement on the driver side rear below the head surface area. it also has a little clock look symbol that says when it was made. I be leave below the freeze plug or in between them on both sides is a 327 casting(meaning lt1). Then in front f the passenger side head surface area is an engine code. This can be seen with heads on or off.

Block part # is 10125327, not 101253227. Last 3 digits are in raised numbers on the block. The casting marks above the bellhousing just aft of the driver's side head has the 5.7 you're describing.
374 is the last 3 digits of one of the factory cylinder head castings (10128374).

Sorry I Should have been more clear What I find confusing is that the casting number is on the passengers side instead of the drivers side. I am not an expert by any means but I expected it to be on the drivers side. The shift clock and date code are on the drivers side. As anyone else ever encountered this?
