Is the battery for a 2002 pontiac firdbird ws6 suppose to secure its from moving with the half hexagone rubber component. Is it suppose to go above the lower battery railing or below.

Put the battery in and the. Drop the holder over the lip and bolt it in the holder rides above the lip of the battery to hold it down and from moving
