Default Bonneville Speed Week 2011 LSx S10 222mph

Just got back yesterday from racing the sonoma on the salt. The truck went through tech inspection flawlessly and we made our first runs last Saturday. We were racing on a 210.5mph record. We reset the record with our first all out run and reset the record two more times after that. The truck ultimately went 222mph out the back of the 5th mile and set the record at 219.3mph with me driving. Congrats to the owner Dave and co owner Kris. Thanks for getting me and Carma involved on such a stellar effort.

Thanks here are some specs.

The truck is a modified stock frame, completely stock body except for the air dam. Air bags from quality air ride and suspension from thorbecke bros, same folks really.
The motor started as a new LS3 block sleeved to I believe a 4.180 bore using a billet 4.8 crank. 358ci. Dual holley dominators on a Marcella intake manifold. Titanium valves, jesel rockers, All pro heads that flow 430 on the intake. It made 675whp on our stingy dyno dynamics chassis dyno. Made close to 800 on the engine dyno. It makes peak power at 8700rpm and happily revs to 9500. We even made a 10,000rpm pull on the dyno and had no issues except the power falls off after 8700.
Transmission is a Tex racing T101A 4 speed dog box from a nascar. Rearend is a 9" with a 335:1 gear.

I was there and I think I saw your truck run toward the end of the first day (Sat.) of racing. Good show...

Nice. It was a fun event and lot's of cool cars.

As it is now, we are planning to switch to Holley EFI and in intake setup that will fit under the hood completely so we can ditch the hood scoop in hopes of bumping the record to 230mph or so. The truck was revving 8700 at the end of the 5th mile so with the same gearing if we can free up some of the aero load and get it to pull to 9000rpm through the 5th mile then we can go 230mph. We are also looking at gear changes to try for a 200mph standing mile at Maxton in October. We already went 193mph at Maxton with a not so ideal 1st and 2nd gear so if we can fix the RPM drop from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 then we think we can pick up that 7mph. Here is the video of that run if you haven't seen it.... you can hear the engine shift out of it's power band from 2 to 3.
