Default Cone or Flat Rectangular Filter for Ram Air Box

Im building a ram air box for my LS2/T56 63 Grand Sport Vette. Would a cone filter inside the box be better or would a flat rectangular filter be better. Obviously the flat filter would serve as the "lid" of the box and would seal to the hood chamber. Which would have the best laminar flow?

Any differences between the 2 filters will be completely unnoticable; it will probably come down to your own personal preference.

Yeahhhh..I'm probably over thinking the thing. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
