Using stock shifter for powerglide swap?
#2
Don't be cheap. Purchase a shifter that is designed for your transmission.
The absolute number one cause of failure in new high performance powerglides is improper manual valve adjustment. I see it all the time. Don't use the factory shifter.... Go buy yourself a $200.00 b&m Pro Bandit billet aluminum shifter and you will thank me later.

But would it be possible to use the stock shifter with no problems. I'm in the same boat. I want to keep my car looking as stock as possible (sleeper) and putting a B&M shifter in there won't help. I don't mind forking out the $200 for a shifter but it will not look stock. If I can't use the stock shifter with the powerglide then i'm just going back to the TH400 instead.
