Default HP gains with better heads

I was looking at some AFR 215cc Mongoose heads, which was recomended from Patrick , and was wondering what kind of HP gains I would get over 243 heads? I have all the bolt on's including cam and intake. Also would going to true duels help?

You should see about 40-45whp. depending on how much you mill them. I picked up 47whp. with PRC 215 castings milled to 59cc. over my stock LS6 heads. They are very similar in design. I hope this helps. Yes true duals will help. The AFR heads are great, get them & don't look back.

It depends on the cam & how much compression you want. I went with PRC 215's because Texas Speed can recess the valves when they build them so you don 't have to fly cut the pistons. I have the Tsunami cam & it's huge. I did not have to fly cut my stock pistons to run my combo, but all the parts are from TSP & are properly matched. I'm even running .045" head gaskets. Their aftermarket 215cc castings are highly under rated. The PRC 215's are used on their record holding stock short block LS1 car. I think it runs high 9's.
You will have to correspond with Mamo on the AFR's. He is e LSX genius & can give you the 411 on them. Some of the most informative threads on here were by him. Good luck.
