using power steering fluid in a th350
was told power steering fluid is the same as atf by a mechanic is this right? my box was rebuilt but will not work properly as it will only go into gear now and again most of the time not, but when it does its not for long, could it be down to using the wrong type of fluid?

The power steering circuit is a hydraulic system in which atf can be used. The trans has clutches and a band where a lot of heat is generated and only certain types of ATF is recommended, not power steering fluid.
