Default Coolant Cross over tube

Has anyone come up with a better way of hooking a coolant crossover tube? I was putting everything back together saturday, when I got to this point. It seems like the bolts on the factory piece don't fit very well. I was afraid the threads would strip out on the heads before the bolts became tight. So this made me wonder if I should just use a couple of 90 degree An fitting of some size, with a T fitting and run it back to the radiator. If anyone has tried this let me know, pics would be good to. Thanks

It is very common nowadays to substitute the steam tube for -AN fittings. Do a search for "Coolant Crossover AN Conversion." Pretty sure there are several (lengthy) threads about it.

If you want to save money, head to Home Depot and get brass fittings and rubber hose and clamps.

Just what I did on a recent project... not really pretty but very stout. High temp thread sealer used here. Careful with aluminum if you go that route. Not a huge problem, but galling can occur when you twist aluminum into aluminum.

In the case of making a cross over and not being all too visable, form < function.
