Default valve spring id?

is there a way to properly identify springs, got a guy selling a set of heads cheap with supposedly pac duals on it?

oh yeah and would there be a good way to test them to see how much life they have in them if i do decide to purchase them?

To test them correctly you need to find out exactly what you have. Honestly I'm not one to advocate buying used springs. I prefer the better to be safe than sorry method.
