My dad has a triple black '64 SS. Wants to do LS/6 Speed, but there is very limited info.

What trans are you using? mounts? Any major issues?

I have a LS3 with a TCI 4L60E! I ended up using the BRP engine mounts after trying other mounts. I also made my own tranny crossmember due to poor quality of other brands! Headers I used SANDERSON!!!

Man that looks cool... nice change to see a 6-4 get a more performance-oriented treatment as opposed to hydros, velour, and ridiculous etching and plating...

Well my this was my dads first car back in the 70's so he was a white boy with hydraulics so now it's my car and was my first. I decided to go a different route and he really likes what I am doing! I am plannin on painting it pearl white with satin black rims. Just a little different from other impalas out there.

Nice car. I'm planning pearl as well, saw a custom bike painted a pearl color that looked awesome and the guy said it was Cadillac Mary Kay something (not pink).

Looking pretty cool. What size are the fronts? 18's? I'm getting ready for my 62 Biscayne swap, still wondering who to use for mounts for the engine/trans. Heard some good and bad with alot out there. Might end up making my own. Hard to justify $400.00 for brp's swap kit.

They are 20" all around. Yea it was a lot harder to pay the price when I saw what the tranny crossmember looked like!!! I should have just built my engine mounts as well.

What did you use for your rack and pinion conversion? Was it a kit or custom fabbed to work?
