which shifter, pro 5.0 or B&M? 98 trans am
2 of my friends have the pro 5.0 shifter one is a lt1 the other is an ls car. Love the feel of it compared to this hurst in mine with super short stick. Thing is I also have a realy good deal on the table for a used b&m at about a quarter of the cost of new. How would this one compare to the pro 5 0? Anyone running it?

I've had the Pro 5.0 and have switched to the MGW. The 5.0 is a great upgrade over stock but IMO the MGW has a much better feel. The 5.0 i had was a little loser and noisier than the MGW. MGW feels very tight and takes some getting used to.

Thanks for the link, thats a bit more then I wanted to spend on a shifter though....we'll see what happens though. So by stiff center spring they mean it is very stiff to snap back to the center position therefore avoiding missing 3rd I take it? What about normal driving, is it extreme?
Its is only a $30 difference over the 5.0. Normal driving is great but its just tighter (not to tight) which is the part to get used to. I like the tighter feel more as a mind thing i think. My 5.0 was sloppy and noisier than I liked and this one feels more like a new car tightness if that makes any sense.
Find someone close and try out the different shifters your thinking about. Thats how I learned about and felt the MGW shifter.
