Default difference in engine bay temp beteween procharger and turbo

I'm looking to get rid of my nitrous setup this winter and go with boost. My concern is under the hood temps since this is a street car 90% of the time. I spend most of my time cruising between 25 and 30mph. My goal is 6.4-6.5 1/8 mile. It would be a D1SC if procharged, not sure on turbo size for my goal. It would eventually be a 370, 4L60E with a 3600ish yank and 9in with the correct gear to match the setup. Which is better suited for my needs?

Thanks, Mike

turbos are better but there will be more heat in the engine bay for sure just depending on the intercooler.

Turbos are good, and can typically be built for cheaper than the price of a procharger but Prochargers are pretty much a bolt on deal. I think Procharger has temp grafts on their website for turbos, intercooled superchargers, and non-intercooled superchargers. Check them out.

I'm thinking procharger for simplicity and less under the hood temps.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Is this going to be on a stock motor or a forged motor?

+1 for procharger. Bolt it on and go. No oil lines, alot less heat, don't have to buy new exhaust or fab up one. for simplicity and street use, procharger all the way.

Plus with turbos, if you blow the motor, you run the risk of metal chunks running though the exhaust and oil, ruining the turbo. The Procharger being self-contained, the oil will remain cleaner and cooler longer. Also won't have to run electronics like turbo timer or elect. boost controller with the supercharger.

stock but I'm going to be building a forged 370 so I have an engine when it blows.

KP ran somewhere around a 5.80 in the 1/8 and high 8's in the 1/4 with a D-1SC on his '98 Trans-Am with a 346.

Check out this complete kit that I sell.

So you send your hot parts to jet hot and get the hottest coating they make. That's what I'm doing..I'll let you all know if it's hot under there...I'm going to heat wrap the down pipe to be safe but under hood temps shouldn't be an issue with me...for everything I've invested in my front mount turbo it's about the same as my f1a tuner kit anyways..I just used to hate the 4th gear pulls always wanting more boost sooner in the gear
